Because of the continuing bleak weather forecost, the Principal Seat of the High Court of Madras will function on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 in the same manner as on November 8, 2021.     

DUE TO THE INCESSANT RAINS, THE FORECAST AND THAT THE GOVERNMENT HAS DECLARED A HOLIDAY ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2021 FOR THE CHENNAI DISTRICT, THE PRINCIPAL SEAT OF THE HIGH COURT OF MADRAS AT CHENNAI WILL BE FUNCTIONING IN A RESTRICTED MANNER AS FOLLOWS: 1. MATTERS WOULD BE TAKEN UP ONLY ON THE VIRTUAL MODE; 2. IF JUDGES ARE UNANBLE TO COME, ALTERNATIVE BENCHES WILL BE ANNOUNCED TO TAKE UP URGENT MATTERS; 3. FINAL HEARING MATTERS WILL BE TAKEN UP ONLY IF ALL PARTIES ARE REPRESENTED. THE FUNCTIONING OF THE CITY CIVIL COURTS, MAGISTRATE COURTS AND FAMILY COURTS IN CHENNAI DISTRICT WILL BE GOVERNED ON THE SAME LINES AS ABOVE. THE FUNCTIONING OF THE CIVIL, CRIMINAL AND FAMILY COURTS IN THE OTHER DISTRICTS WILL BE DECIDED BY THE PRINCIPAL DISTRICT JUDGES AS PER THE WEATHER SITUATION PREVAILING IN THEIR RESPECTIVE DISTRICTS.   (English)
